Saves you a refund- Players seeking a low-stakes simulation may find the choices involve population loss, viral spread, protests, and humanitarian crises
- Players who prefer a simple management loop may find the interconnected systems of logistics, migration, economy, public health, and public order demanding
- Players looking for a combat-focused game may find military action occupies only one part of the wider government simulation
Our take on Quarantineer
The game offers control over public health, the economy, media, and military affairs, but this breadth creates competing pressures. Economic activity can increase viral transmission, while restrictions can damage happiness and livelihoods, making progress depend on trade-offs rather than one stable policy.
What is Quarantineer?
Quarantineer is a dystopian government simulator about managing a human-to-human virus outbreak.
Players oversee hospitals, isolate infected patients, and research a vaccine while balancing public health with economic activity. Logistics move resources between towns and cities, whose different economic strengths affect development. Citizens may relocate in response to work, food, safety, happiness, and shelter. Lockdowns can reduce transmission between connected cities but may increase unhappiness, while partial restrictions keep selected economic activities operating. Media control can influence public happiness and economic development. Military forces can suppress protests or confront foreign threats. Special events and character interactions, including those found through the Black Market, can lead to different story paths and endings.
How Quarantineer plays
- 01Resource Logistics
- Move supplies between towns and cities so locations can concentrate on different economic activities.
- 02Citizen Migration
- Residents change locations in response to local work, food, safety, happiness, and shelter conditions.
- 03Partial Restrictions
- Keep some economic sectors active while limiting others, balancing income against viral exposure.
- 04Branching Events
- Black Market events, protests, and character interactions can lead to different story routes and endings.
