Our take on Mr. President
Its defining structure is a presidency sandbox built around a limited action budget, where legislative, diplomatic, military, and domestic choices compete for attention each turn.
What is Mr. President?
Mr.
President is a sandbox simulation of the U. S. presidency covering the years 2000 to 2020. Players choose a Cabinet, pursue legislation, manage domestic and diplomatic crises, direct military actions, nominate Supreme Court justices, handle scandals, run for re-election, and develop strategic capabilities such as cyber warfare, space, and intelligence. The game includes more than 150 historical and counterfactual crisis events, alongside distinct action lists for allies and adversaries. Five historical scenarios are available as DLC, each covering one presidential term, and a sandbox scenario represents broader trends across the period. Players select actions while managing a limited action budget, with the digital format handling administrative tasks from the board game.
