Our take on Shadowgate 2
Rather than keeping the traditional 2D point-and-click presentation, the game shifts the adventure into 3D-rendered castle environments. It also replaces purely item-driven problem solving with turn-based fights that depend on storybook clues, spell schools, and enemy weaknesses.
What is Shadowgate 2?
Shadowgate 2 is a point-and-click adventure set in Castle Shadowgate, where sorceress Raven seeks to restore ancient magic in the land of Kal Torlin.
The game presents six levels filled with puzzles, monsters, objects to discover, and locations to unlock. Raven uses Lakmir’s Chrono-Orb to move between the castle’s past and present, while companion Yorick provides hints during the search for useful objects. Turn-based combat combines clues from a storybook with six schools of spells and enemy weaknesses. The game replaces the earlier 2D presentation with 3D-rendered environments. It includes English voice acting for four characters, localized text in Polish, French, German, and Spanish, and music and sound design by Rich Douglas.
