Our take on Fishticuffs
The run-based structure keeps attempts brief, but that brevity comes with a reset: collected items do not carry over after defeat. Progress between attempts rests on player knowledge.
What is Fishticuffs?
Fishticuffs is a fishing roguelite built around bullet-hell combat.
Cast a hook to gather fish and treasure while aquatic enemies fire back, weighing rewards against the risk of taking damage. Items found during runs can change combat: some increase damage or repair the hook, while others make fish explode or shoot themselves. Most items stack, allowing repeated pickups to build stronger effects. Each run ends when the hook is defeated, and the next begins with no carryover except player knowledge. Enemy patterns and available items vary between runs, requiring adaptation. A new run can begin shortly after defeat.
How Fishticuffs plays
