We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- FPS players who want roguelite runs with escalating difficulty
- Small groups seeking cooperative bullet-hell combat for 1–4 players
- Action players who enjoy collecting weapons, abilities, and permanent upgrades
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a relaxed shooter, since combat centers on intense projectile-heavy encounters and large enemy groups
- Players who prefer a fixed campaign, since progression is organized around repeated runs, escalating Boss Soul difficulty, and two run structures
- Players seeking a multiplayer-only game, since the game also supports solo play
Our take on AFTERBLAST
Its defining structure is the split between two run types: descending through a planet toward its God or defending large open maps against invading forces.
What is AFTERBLAST?
AFTERBLAST is a first-person roguelite shooter for solo play or co-op with 1–4 players.
Runs combine intense projectile-heavy combat with equipment, weapons, abilities, perks, items, and loot-sharing between teammates. One route sends players deeper through a planet toward its God, while another uses large open maps where invading forces must be held back. Boss Souls raise the difficulty and add enemies, challenges, weapons, and items. A Chain Hook supports movement and finishers against weakened enemies, while destructible enemy elements create additional combat targets. Players can rescue companions and collect crystals during fights for permanent upgrades. The objective is to defeat the Evil Forces and save the home planet.
How AFTERBLAST plays
- 01Solo And Co-op
- The game supports individual play and cooperative teams of 1–4 players, with shared loot and coordinated builds.
- 02Two Game Modes
- One mode progresses toward a planetary boss, while the other uses open maps and defense against advancing forces.
- 03Boss Soul Progression
- Collecting Boss Souls increases difficulty and opens additional enemies, challenges, weapons, and items.
- 04Chain Hook Combat
- The Chain Hook enables faster movement and finishing attacks against enemies with low health.
- 05Permanent Upgrades
- Crystals gathered during fights can be used for lasting character improvements.
AFTERBLAST compared to similar games
AFTERBLAST combines first-person roguelite shooting, 1–4-player co-op, projectile-heavy combat, and two run structures. Abyssus also offers multiplayer roguelite shooting, but focuses on hand-crafted levels, tactical combat, and brine-powered weapons modified with ancient technologies.
