Skip it if you…

- Players looking for multiplayer gameplay rather than a single-player campaign
Our take on Dustborn
The emphasis on conversation, crew dynamics, and road-trip stops limits the experience for players seeking continuous combat or a compact arcade-style campaign. Its action is part of a broader story structure, alongside investigations, assignments, rehearsals, and relationship choices.
What is Dustborn?
Play Pax, an exiled con artist transporting a stolen package from Pacifica to Nova Scotia across a Justice-controlled alternate America.
Travel with a robot driver and tour bus, stopping at a dozen locations to recruit crew members, manage relationships, investigate assignments, and confront pursuers. Conversations use Vox abilities and branching choices to influence relationships, while Shouts provide a word-based combat system. Locations combine exploration, investigation, dialogue, missions, band rehearsals, and crew-based challenges. Combat includes baseball-bat attacks, Molotov cocktails thrown from a motorbike, and other encounters. The journey uses a colorful graphic-novel-inspired visual style, with a single-player story focused on a road trip involving friendship, conflict, robots, and a package that others want returned.
How Dustborn plays
- 01Word-based abilities

- 02Crew relationship management
- Branching dialogue choices affect how crew members view themselves and one another.
- 03Road-trip structure
- A robot-driven bus carries the crew between a dozen stops across alternate-history America.
- 04Mixed mission activities
- Each location combines exploration, investigation, conversations, assignments, rehearsals, and crew-based challenges.
