What is Under The Waves?
Under The Waves is a narrative adventure set beneath the North Sea in an alternate 1979 where retro technology, science fiction, and fantasy meet.
Stan, a professional diver, works through a life-changing loss during an extended underwater mission. Players pilot his submarine across the seabed and explore caves, wrecks, submerged plants, and retro-futuristic facilities. Stan can also leave the submarine in a special wetsuit to investigate the depths, encounter wildlife, follow strange manifestations of memory, and find pieces of his backstory, salvageable waste, and collectibles. Materials gathered during the expedition can be used to craft equipment for further exploration. The story follows Stan toward a difficult choice as the underwater setting reflects his isolation and troubled past.
