Our take on DREAMGATE
Players who rely on keeping rewards between attempts may hit the wall at hero death: the run’s collected items are lost. Deck planners may also balk when treasure, wounds, toxins, and curses all join the same pool as skills and weapons.
What is DREAMGATE?
Dreamgate combines deck-building battles with roguelite exploration and RPG progression.
Each new journey has a different layout, with choices of paths, enemies, cards, and tactics. Anomalies alter the rules, while a skill tree lets players permanently improve heroes. Cards for weapons, items, skills, wounds, toxins, and curses share one deck, so treasure can add cards that affect its balance. A hero’s death means losing everything collected on that journey. The Early Access version includes 6 heroes, 40+ passive skills, 9 bosses and 1 final boss, 50+ enemies, 20+ event encounters, 120+ skill cards, and 50+ weapon and item cards. Anomalies and Hard mode are also included.
