Our take on Dragon Spirits
The likely bounce point is battle preparation: each Dragon Spirit requires a 4-skill choice, followed by real-time decisions about when to use those skills. Players who do not want to plan combinations before combat may hit a wall there.
What is Dragon Spirits?
Dragon Spirits follows a college student who repeatedly dreams that he is inside the fantasy game he is developing.
In the dream, he becomes his younger self and attends school with his childhood friend, learning to use Dragon Spirits with teachers and classmates. Memories of the real world fade in and out. Gameplay centers on catching and training creatures, then fighting in real time. Players choose 4 skills for every Dragon Spirit on the team and decide when to use them in battle. Side quests, challenges, school-life scenes and secrets in the world's history provide additional activities. The game was adapted from a board game made by one of its developers and includes more than 100 Dragon Spirit illustrations.
