Rather than separating combat from adventure puzzles, Weirdlands lets RPG statistics shape point-and-click problem solving: brute force can replace item-based solutions when brawn is high enough. Its second playthrough also changes the story and mechanics, departing from a fixed repeat of the original campaign.
What is Weirdlands?
Weirdlands is a single-player, turn-based RPG set after a crisis lockdown opens a portal to a magical land.
Enemies can be recruited or captured, while distinctive spirits have personalities and individual storylines. Captured spirits can absorb one another, gaining abilities and creating different combinations, including hidden ones. The game combines combat and character development with point-and-click inventory puzzles. Many puzzles support several solutions, including brute-force approaches governed by the brawn stat. Optional content and bosses, secrets, and lore are found through story progression and exploration. After completing the game, or enabling the option earlier, New Game Plus changes both the story and game mechanics for a different second playthrough. The game also works on Steam Deck.
