Our take on BLACKTAIL
Rather than treating morality as a separate dialogue layer, the game connects decisions about the world to changes in the protagonist’s skills. Its fairy-tale setting also frames archery, crafting, hunting, and boss fights around the origins of a mythological figure.
What is BLACKTAIL?
BLACKTAIL follows Yaga, a 16-year-old girl cast out of a medieval Slavic settlement after being accused of witchcraft.
As memories return as hostile spirits, she hunts them with a bow and gauntlet while investigating her past. The game combines archery combat, magic, dark storytelling, boss encounters, and exploration in a vivid fairy-tale setting. A morality system links decisions about the land and its inhabitants to changes in Yaga’s skills. Survival activities include hunting wild animals, collecting materials, making arrows and potions, and brewing recipes that alter abilities and playstyle. Hidden treasures provide information about the surrounding world and its history.
