Our take on DOOMBLADE
Its defining format is the partnership between Gloom Girl and a sentient blade: movement, combat, and progression all center on recovering the weapon’s lost powers while pursuing the Dread Lords.
What is DOOMBLADE?
Gloom Girl joins forces with DOOMBLADE, a sentient weapon imprisoned and stripped of its abilities by the Dread Lords.
The pair travel through interconnected areas including abandoned halls, a forest, mines, and a technological hellscape while hunting the blade’s captors. DOOMBLADE lets Gloom Girl ride through the air, target monsters directly, and attack them in combat. Demonic shrines hide the weapon’s lost powers, which can be recovered during the journey. Abilities named Doom Drop, Wicked Wind, and Nightmare Onion add to the blade’s arsenal. The game combines 2D action with Metroidvania exploration across several themed environments and a revenge-driven quest against the Dread Lords.
How DOOMBLADE plays

- 02Aerial Combat
