Our take on Dispel
The run-based structure trades continuity for variation: permanent death and procedural levels make each attempt distinct, but prevent a single character from carrying progress through every expedition. Its broad class, skill, and equipment choices also sit within a solo format rather than a shared adventure.
What is Dispel?
Dispel is a solo, third-person action RPG set in a dark fantasy world.
Players begin a journey through caves and other dangerous areas in search of wealth and fame. Levels are procedurally generated, so each run uses a different layout. Permanent death makes each run consequential. Character setup includes choosing a class and race, changing appearance, and combining skills from different trees. Exploration involves monsters, bosses, traps, secret levels, cities, and random curses that weaken the character. Magic books provide enchantments for dispelling darkness. Armor can be collected as a complete set or mixed across types. Combat uses a non-targeting action system.
