Is Arboria worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Action RPG players who want third-person combat with procedural dungeons
- Roguelite fans who accept permanent character death and successor progression
- Dark fantasy players interested in troll warriors, mutations, and challenging bosses
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking persistent control of one warrior will hit the permanent-death system when that character fails in combat.
- Players who prefer low-pressure combat may bounce off the required attacks, dashes, rolls, and changing tactics against different opponents.
- Players looking for a linear dungeon layout may not suit the procedural generation.
- Players seeking a peaceful village-focused game may find the combat and dungeon expeditions too dominant.
Our take on Arboria
The bounce point arrives when a warrior fails in combat: that character dies permanently, and the next run begins with a new troll. Players who want one continuous character may stop there, while others can continue through successor progression.
What is Arboria?
Arboria is a third-person action RPG roguelite set in the dark fantasy dungeons of Durnar.
As a Yotun troll warrior, players explore procedurally generated dungeons and varied biomes while fighting enemies in real time. Combat includes attacks, dashes, rolls, symbiotic weapons, and organic mutations. Weapon choices affect combat style, and upgrades allow warriors to be customized and evolved. The village contains unusual inhabitants and bawdy troll humor, while the dungeons contain bizarre enemies and challenging bosses.
If a warrior fails in combat, that warrior dies permanently, and the next run begins with a new troll. Veri collected during runs serves as an offering to the Godz and affects the stats and abilities of successor warriors. The story involves healing the Father Tree and saving the Yotunz Tribe from extinction.
