Is Chroma Squad worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Players who want turn-based tactical RPG battles with a five-character team
- Fans of tokusatsu and Power Rangers-inspired television shows
- Players who enjoy combining studio management with crafting and story choices
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking real-time combat may bounce off the turn-based battle structure.
- Players wanting a combat-only RPG may lose interest during the studio management, crafting, and marketing sections.
- Players looking for a realistic visual style may not suit the pixel-art presentation and cardboard Mechas.
- Players who do not want branching stories may find the three-ending structure less suitable.
Our take on Chroma Squad
The likely bounce point is the transition between battles: progress also depends on running the television studio, improving equipment, managing performers, and crafting production items. Players seeking a direct sequence of tactical encounters may hit that management layer before combat returns.
What is Chroma Squad?
Chroma Squad follows five stunt actors who leave their jobs to create a Power Rangers-inspired television show.
Players manage the studio by hiring performers, buying equipment, upgrading facilities, marketing the production, and making costumes, weapons, and cardboard robots. During filming, the five color-coded heroes fight in turn-based tactical encounters. Combat includes Teamwork maneuvers that combine character abilities. RPG systems include skill trees, random equipment, crafting, and a branching story with three endings. Giant Mecha battles add another scale to the action, while pixel-art animation and a chiptune soundtrack support the tokusatsu-inspired presentation.
