Our take on Children of Zodiarcs
The card-and-dice system gives combat variable options, but that variability limits how much players can rely on a fixed sequence of attacks. Deck and dice customization offers control within that structure rather than removing chance.
What is Children of Zodiarcs?
Set in the fantasy realm of Lumus, this story-driven tactical RPG follows Nahmi and a group of outcasts in a society divided by wealth.
The party consists of professional thieves pursuing an ancient relic, who seek refuge in the slums and underground while facing guards, rival gangs, and other threats. Combat uses cards for each character’s attacks and abilities; the cards drawn affect the options available in each battle. Dice add attack, defence, healing, and special ability modifiers to chosen actions.
Players can craft dice to suit their play style and reroll up to two dice per throw. Each playable character has a customizable deck, allowing changes to the attacks and abilities they may draw. The story follows the group as they confront the people and forces shaping their lives.
