Our take on Cartel Tycoon
The pitch emphasizes huge empires and extensive play, but the central loop remains a business simulation built around production, logistics, succession, and threats from rival groups and authorities. Its three modes change the structure of play, while the setting and criminal enterprise remain consistent.
What is Cartel Tycoon?
Cartel Tycoon is a survival-oriented business simulation set in an imagined version of 1980s Latin America.
Players expand a modest farm into plantations, laboratories, airfields, and a wider trafficking network while handling lieutenants, law enforcement, and reputation among civilians. Competing cartels, the DEA, military forces, and the CIA pose threats. After a capo's death, a chosen lieutenant inherits control, letting the organization rebuild with what remains. Three play options are available: a narrative campaign, a Survival mode with permanent death, and a Sandbox mode with adjustable rules. Money can be cleaned to finance growth, preserve loyalty among lieutenants, and influence politicians through bribes. A character-driven narrative system includes distinct personalities, while the soundtrack blends psychedelic sounds with Latin American influences.
