Our take on The Commission 1920: Organized Crime Grand Strategy
Players who want real-time action may bounce off as soon as turns become the pace of play. Those unwilling to manage shifting loyalties may hit another wall when members can defect or disclose information after arrest, while assigning titles can add jealousy within the family.
What is The Commission 1920: Organized Crime Grand Strategy?
Set in 1920s New Shore, this turn-based strategy game casts players as the head of a mafia family.
They control resources and build urban influence through rackets, political dealings, investments, and force, seeking to eliminate competing groups. Five playable families offer different advantages, vulnerabilities, histories, and ties to the city. Family members can be relocated across neighborhoods and boroughs while players collect intelligence, recruit opposing units, or order their deaths. Loyalty changes according to family decisions: unfaithful members might defect or disclose secrets to law enforcement after capture.
Bestowing titles provides advantages but may create resentment. Caporegime goals and allegiance respond to the family’s successes and setbacks. New Shore’s families compete in a wider ranking, with leading groups taking control of the Commission. This version remasters the original game.
