Rather than making combat or exploration the main activity, Brothers uses shared movement and environmental obstacles to frame its action-adventure setting as a sequence of puzzle challenges. Its restrained narrative also leaves the family’s story partly to the player’s imagination.
What is Brothers?
Brothers is a 2D puzzle game in which a family tries to reach safety while avoiding enemies and traps.
Each level asks players to guide the brothers to a designated safe location, using movement controls and objects in the environment to make a path. All brothers move in the same direction at once. Boxes can be shifted when a character touches them, while indicators can redirect movement. Players must also account for pursuers, stalkers, keys, and locked doors. The game has 40 challenges with varying difficulty, accompanied by an original soundtrack. Its minimal narrative leaves parts of the family’s story open to the player’s imagination.
