Our take on Mongrel
Its defining premise combines roguelite underworld combat with a reputation system built around giving fake compliments to a distorted society.
What is Mongrel?
Mongrel is a roguelite adventure set in Yonder, a distorted society where rulebreakers are sent through toilets into the underworld.
Exploration leads to ancient eggs containing weapons, upgrades, and perks for building a stronger arsenal. Progress also depends on reputation: offering false compliments can raise social standing, while falling out of favor can turn former targets against the player. The story follows an attempt to uncover the society’s secrets, reach the top of its social order, and pursue intimacy with the town’s only female resident. Allies can be gathered along the way, with each bringing individual skills and stories while the group confronts Fergooson.
