Our take on Barrage Fantasia
Its defining structure is a five-stage shoot-'em-up campaign paired with a separate short mode, training access to stage sections, and bosses built around destructible parts for score-focused play.
What is Barrage Fantasia?
Barrage Fantasia is a retro shoot-'em-up about Herb, a self-declared great witch who leaves her poisonous swamp to retrieve a jewel taken from a shrine she oversees.
Arcade mode runs through five stages in order; Short mode lets players choose a stage, and Training mode starts at selected sections for practice. The game has 16 regular bosses and four challenge bosses, some with destructible parts that factor into score-focused play. Familiar Attack types, Bomb settings, and Life settings can be mixed to change each run. The main characters include Herb, Rose, a bandit leader, and Baran and Fillet, members of Rose’s group who build mechas and plan their tactics.
