Our take on Rangerdog
The focused stage-based structure limits the range of activities on offer: progression centers on replaying seven shooting stages, adjusting equipment, and tackling bosses rather than exploring a larger world or pursuing several campaign systems.
What is Rangerdog?
Rangerdog is a retro-style side-scrolling shoot-'em-up with seven stages, each featuring distinct stage and boss mechanics.
Players choose one of three ranger dogs, each with different equipment, and select from three equipment sets during their run. Combat includes a main shot, one of two missile types, and bombs that clear the screen. Up to three bombs can be stored. Shooting power-ups changes their effects, making equipment choices part of each stage. The game also includes a boss rush stage. Three difficulty modes are available, and the starting number of lives can be customized. Its presentation uses pixel art and music.
