Our take on Dezatopia
Its defining structure is a 1,000-rank difficulty system that adjusts during play, pairing arcade shooting with a challenge level that changes to match the player’s skill.
What is Dezatopia?
Dezatopia is a classic arcade-style shoot-'em-up set beneath Earth’s surface.
Players control the Speleological Fighter Pink Aurora, using four weapons against enemies approaching from different directions. Twenty-four stages contain varied gimmicks and end with bosses piloting large machines; these stages are arranged across 21 predetermined routes. A mid-flight shop sells upgrades and items without stopping the action, while a difficulty system adjusts across 1,000 ranks. Hidden items can unlock music, character backstories, and other bonuses. The game combines pixel art and smooth animation with more than 40 FM-synth tracks. Its story follows high school students opposing Momoko and underground creatures as they attempt to unite civilizations above and below the surface.
