Our take on Autumn
Autumn departs from conventional game progression by making personal growth the central focus rather than levels, puzzles, or defined objectives. Its structure removes combat, time limits, and required goals, leaving the player to determine what progress means within the seasonal world.
What is Autumn?
Autumn is a calm, open-ended experience centered on spiritual learning and personal growth.
Players take the role of a Spirit whose progress depends on the natural world. During the autumn season, trees release Prana orbs as they shed their leaves. The Spirit can absorb this energy, then use it to influence and support the surrounding world and gain spiritual teachings. Autumn does not use time limits, enemies, or required objectives. Instead of focusing on levels, puzzles, or conventional in-game progression, it places its emphasis on the player’s own growth and the goals they choose.
How Autumn plays
- 01Prana gathering
- The Spirit absorbs energy released by trees during the autumn season.
- 02World nurturing
- Collected Prana can be spent to affect and support the natural environment.
- 03Spiritual teachings
- Prana also provides access to teachings within the experience.
- 04Self-set objectives
- The experience leaves goals to the player rather than imposing required targets.
