Our take on Akatori
The red bird is also Mako’s staff: the same companion serves as both a weapon and a means of navigating the worlds.
What is Akatori?
Akatori is a 2D action platformer with metroidvania elements.
Play as Mako, a battle monk raised at the Akatori Monastery, and travel through amber-infected worlds to stop storms that alter living things. A red bird companion can transform into a staff used to attack enemies and traverse the environment. New staff abilities open routes and combat techniques, including gliding, wall climbing, and sliding down slopes. Explore landscapes, floating structures, and catacombs, uncover the worlds’ history, and face more than twenty enemies and several bosses. The game combines pixel art with 3D models and follows Mako’s story alongside a soundtrack.
