Our take on Hand In Hand
Its defining structure is a split screen that keeps both heroes in separate parts of the same level, requiring one player—or two local players—to coordinate their actions across both areas.
What is Hand In Hand?
Hand In Hand is a 2D puzzle platformer set across a fairytale forest and other locations.
Its split-screen structure places Lina and Minho in separate parts of shared levels, with puzzles requiring them to coordinate across screens. In single-player mode, one person controls both characters at the same time with one joystick. Local co-op lets two players control one character each using two joysticks on the same device. The characters can transfer keys and objects between areas and interact to connect sections of a level. Challenges include locked doors, lasers and reflectors, mechanisms, ruins, labyrinths, and dangerous caves. Boss encounters remove the split-screen layout and assign each character separate shadow enemies to defeat.
How Hand In Hand plays
- 01Dual-character control
- Single-player mode places both heroes under one player's control at the same time.
- 02Local cooperative play
- Two players can share one device and operate one hero each with separate joysticks.
- 03Linked screen puzzles
- Keys and objects can move between the characters' areas, connecting otherwise separate parts of each level.
- 04Varied puzzle hazards
- The challenges include locked passages, laser-reflector setups, ancient mechanisms, labyrinths, and hazardous caves.
- 05Single-character boss fights
- Boss encounters take place without split screen, with each hero facing their own shadow bosses.
