Our take on Agarest: Generations of War
The generational relationship system adds long-term consequences to character choices, but it also ties progression to marriage decisions and repeated playthroughs to see all character possibilities.
What is Agarest: Generations of War?
Agarest: Generations of War is a turn-based role-playing game set across five generations of heroes.
Players choose between paths of Light and Darkness, build relationships with three female party members in each generation, and select a marriage partner whose relationship affects the next generation’s main character. Combat uses character abilities, linked attack areas, Arts, Special Arts, Extra Skills, Over Kills, and battles against large enemies. Equipment can be upgraded to Level 5, converted into other items, or combined through alchemy, with occasional unexpected results. The game includes five generation-specific add-on dungeons and free item packs containing equipment, skills, healing items, currencies, and other materials.
