Our take on Abyss Crew
The station-based structure trades individual freedom for coordination: each player is responsible for a specific submarine function, and a full crew has four sailors. Solo play exists, but it does not provide the same shared role management as multiplayer sessions.
What is Abyss Crew?
Abyss Crew is a cooperative multiplayer game set on a steampunk submarine.
Players take roles such as pilot, gunner, sonar operator, or engineer while exploring an underwater world for valuable minerals, creatures, treasures, and mysteries. Submarines can be selected and improved with recovered items, including hydrophones, torpedoes, and electromagnetic shields. Breaches can destroy the vessel, so crew members must coordinate their stations. Games support 2 to 5 players, with artificial intelligence managing some stations when fewer than 4 people participate. A fifth player can act as an Abyss Master, controlling enemies and objects in the environment. Solo play is available in the full version, while a Friend Pass lets invited players join a hosted game.
