Our take on Yggdra Union
The focus on structured tactical battles sacrifices the immediacy of real-time action. Combat also depends on managing formations, cards, and unit participation, which may make individual character control feel less central.
What is Yggdra Union?
Yggdra Union follows Yggdra and her allies as they fight the Empire of Bronquia to reclaim the Kingdom of Fantasinia.
Battles use the Union System, which lets up to five characters participate based on their positions. Army clashes form another part of combat, while Tactics Cards provide special moves and varied effects for turning battles around. The PC version adds free saving during battles, rewind, auto-save, conversation logs, adjustable battle speed up to five times, and mouse, keyboard, and controller support. Players can switch between Japanese and English voices, remove equipment during play, and use items without limits in EASY mode. Three sound-source options and several optional trick functions are also included.
