Our take on Yaengard
Rather than treating personality as background flavor, the game makes it part of character development and ability access. Its repeated-run structure also replaces a single fixed party progression with changing combinations of traits, classes, equipment, and encounters.
What is Yaengard?
Yaengard is a turn-based role-playing game about leading a team of adventurers.
Choices made during the journey alter each character’s traits, abilities, and available decisions. Parties can draw from over 20 classes, with equipment, perks, weapons, trinkets, and personality traits combined into different setups. Battles center on tactical interactions, while journeys include encounters, conversations, and branching decisions that carry rewards or consequences. Its narrative concerns the Aatanic empire’s collapse and the unexpected emergence of new heroes. Repeated runs vary through different character setups, areas, events, and finds. Hundreds of items, abilities, classes, and defensive gear support the roguelike-style structure, sending parties on successive expeditions toward Yaengard.
