Play it if you…
Good fit- Action RPG players who want character builds shaped by traits, perks, and equipment
- Roguelite fans who want clan progression between Tower expeditions
- Players who enjoy managing the risks of permanent character loss and dropped gear
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who prefer forgiving combat may find the fast pace punishing when they delay during fights.
- Those seeking a run-based game without lasting consequences may dislike permanent deaths, dropped gear, and injuries that cannot be healed.
- Players looking for a purely first-person or purely third-person game may not want a title that offers both views.
Our take on Archtower
The persistent-death structure gives each expedition stakes, but it also makes character loss and abandoned equipment part of progression. Recovery upgrades and possible escapes soften that cost without removing it.
What is Archtower?
Archtower combines action RPG combat with roguelite progression.
Players choose from generated adventurers, shape their classes, traits, stats, perks, and equipment, and use power crystals to grant active skills. Tower runs involve exploring floors, fighting enemies, finding gear, and completing quests for clan Fame and faction reputation. Between runs, players improve the clan, rebuild its domain, and purchase Tower upgrades. Characters can die permanently and leave their equipment behind, though some upgrades let later adventurers recover dropped loot, and defeat can sometimes end in escape instead. Repeated losses can cause traumas or lasting injuries. The game includes four basic classes, with more unlocked over time, and supports first- or third-person camera views.
