Our take on X-Team
The mix of squad progression, base operations, vehicle production, and branching quests trades away a tightly focused tactical format. Managing several systems and character roles is part of the experience, so individual battles are only one component of the campaign.
What is X-Team?
X-Team combines role-playing and strategy in a non-linear campaign set during an alien invasion of Earth.
Assemble a squad whose members have individual backgrounds, abilities, and skills, then improve their capabilities with new equipment and weapons. Build a base, train infantry, and manufacture military vehicles for larger engagements. Three character classes and nine specializations support different approaches, including machine-gun assaults, stealth, camouflage, sniping, engineering, medicine, and paranormal abilities. Missions span Africa, Europe, Russia, and the United States. Quests can be completed in different orders, while decisions affect whether the squad supports survivors or pursues its own interests. Investigation into the Sarts and the Earth Alliance forms part of the campaign.
