Our take on Every Day We Fight
The time-loop structure carries skills and equipment across deaths, but it makes repeated failure part of the progression. Optional rescues add another sacrifice: pursuing them can cost progress, while ignoring them leaves civilians behind.
What is Every Day We Fight?
Every Day We Fight follows three resistance fighters trapped in a repeating war against alien Rifters.
Players explore districts of a ruined city in real time, use stealth and teamwork, then enter turn-based tactical battles. Missions include disabling harvesters, defusing bombs, and eliminating occupying troops, with optional goals that can put progress at risk. Experience, abilities, weapons, modifications, and equipment remain available after each death, changing later attempts. Combat involves positioning allies, interrupting enemy movement, using reflex actions, and aiming shots while accounting for firing angles and obstructions. Boss battles against armored Rifter leaders move the loop forward. Exploration also reveals the fighters’ pasts and investigates the aliens’ control over time.
How Every Day We Fight plays
- 01Persistent Loop Progress
- Experience, skills, weapons, modifications, and discovered equipment remain available when the cycle restarts.
- 02Mixed-Phase Missions
- Players move through city districts, use stealth, and then complete tactical objectives such as disabling harvesters or defusing bombs.
- 03Manual Shot Placement
- Hit results depend on positioning, aim, reaction time, firing angles, and obstructions.
- 04Reflex Responses
- Fighters can interrupt movement, support allied attacks, or evade fire outside their normal action points.
- 05Risky Side Objectives
- Optional missions can save civilians while exposing the group to a possible loss of progress.
- 06Leader Encounters
- Heavily armored Rifter commanders appear in boss fights, and defeating them advances the time loop.
Every Day We Fight compared to similar games
Every Day We Fight combines real-time exploration, stealth, manual shooting, and turn-based tactics with progress that persists across repeated deaths. Quasimorph is also described as a high-stakes roguelike, but its listed structure centers on corporate contracts, extracted resources, and strengthening a PMC rather than resistance fighters confronting aliens through a time loop.
