Our take on Robowars
The card-and-resource structure adds tactical decisions between attacks, but it also makes each defense dependent on managing Neonium, plants, and available cards. That focus leaves less room for direct combat or character-focused progression.
What is Robowars?
Robowars is a story-based tower defense game set on Praymos, a planet contested for its limited Neonium deposits.
Players defend Solar Union positions from the Trade Confederation by protecting flags, placing units and traps, and constructing battlefield towers. Cards provide access to defenses, troops, traps, and special abilities, while Neonium supplies determine how many ability cards become available. Production plants generate additional Neonium, and defeated enemies can drop money for purchasing units, traps, and attack cards.
The campaign contains 55 missions, each with its own tactical requirements and bonus goals. Completing those goals raises ratings and grants access to additional missions and special ability cards. The game includes more than 50 types of units, towers, abilities, and bosses, with an old-school science-fiction design.

Robowars compared to similar games
Dungeon Defenders: Awakened combines cooperative tower defense with action RPG systems including loot, leveling, pets, and character customization, while Robowars centers on card selection, Neonium management, and a 55-mission story campaign. Anomaly: Warzone Earth uses a reversed tower defense format in which players save near-future Earth from an alien attack, rather than building defenses to protect flags on Praymos.
