Our take on Worlds of Magic
The broad empire-management structure trades intimate character focus for strategic scope. Decisions span cities, armies, resources, diplomacy, spells, and multiple planes, so individual heroes and battles form parts of a larger campaign rather than the entire experience.
What is Worlds of Magic?
Worlds of Magic is a turn-based 4X strategy game about exploring procedurally generated universes and expanding an empire.
Players establish cities, recruit military units, summon creatures, research and cast spells, hire heroes, and create magical artifacts. A Sorcerer Lord can be customized through spell circles, disciplines, and one of eight races. Seven planes offer distinct features, adjustable sizes, varied terrain, resources, guardians, and loot. Settlements can be developed with more than 50 building types, while armies can include more than 100 units and creatures. Conflicts can be resolved on a tactical battle board or calculated automatically. Diplomacy, city conquest, unit experience, and tactical, strategic, and global spells shape campaigns.
