Our take on Sorcerer King: Rivals
The broad empire-building structure trades focused adventure pacing for decisions across exploration, diplomacy, research, resources, crafting, and terrain magic. Custom editors add scope, but also shift some of the experience toward creating content rather than following a fixed campaign.
What is Sorcerer King: Rivals?
Lead one of eight civilizations in the magical land of Elemental, where the Sorcerer King has left ruins and hostile minions.
Explore dungeons, temples, villages, and other locations while completing quests for treasure and weapons. Expand by founding cities, researching spells, learning skills, gathering resources, and crafting magical equipment through the Forge of the Overlord. Diplomacy includes alliances and wars with other civilizations, while champions and demigods can join the cause.
Magic can reshape terrain by raising mountains or creating frozen plains. The campaign culminates in an assault on the Sorcerer King's fortress, alongside an attempt to ascend through the power of magical shards. Randomly generated worlds, a map editor, a quest editor, and Steam Workshop support add custom content options.
