Our take on Star Control®: Origins
The defining structure is a role-playing campaign that alternates between planetary exploration, hyperspace travel, alien encounters, and fleet combat across a large universe.
What is Star Control®: Origins?
Star Control: Origins is a space role-playing game set in 2088, when humanity discovers hostile alien civilizations and forms Star Control in response.
The player commands the U. E. S. Vindicator, Earth's first interstellar starship, on a mission to save the planet. Gameplay moves between visiting distant solar systems, landing on unusual planets, crossing hyperspace, and meeting alien species that may become allies or enemies. Exploration includes relics, Precursor artifacts, treasures, alien technology, and a universe with history extending hundreds of thousands of years. Ship upgrades support progression from an underpowered vessel to a formidable warship. Players can also design ships or download creations through Steam, assemble fleets, and use them in fleet battles.
