We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Strategy players who want space combat combined with diplomacy and trade
- Players who enjoy campaigns centered on rival powers and territorial expansion
- Science-fiction fans interested in building a family dynasty across multiple planets
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a focused space shooter may find the added diplomacy, planning, and trading systems distracting
- Players who prefer short, self-contained battles may not enjoy the broader campaign of alliances, wealth, and conquest
- Players looking for a purely peaceful diplomacy game may not want combat and planetary domination at its core
Our take on Starlord
The game trades a focused combat experience for a wider galactic power struggle. Piloting and battles share space with negotiations, trading, succession planning, alliances, and the ongoing risk created by growing influence.
What is Starlord?
Starlord combines space battles with planetary rule and galactic expansion.
Players begin by piloting starfighters and commanding forces in three-dimensional combat, then add diplomacy, planning, and trade to their campaign. Progress requires assessing rival strengths and weaknesses, creating alliances, and choosing when to attack. As control grows, players can negotiate new treaties, increase wealth, place family members on additional planets, and call on subordinate lords to support conquest campaigns. Rival powers respond to increasing influence by raising the price on the player's head. The central objective is to gain control of the galaxy while building a lasting family dynasty amid competition from many other Starlords.
