Our take on Windward
Rather than following a fixed adventure route, the game builds its structure around a changing world, player-led travel, and several competing activities. Sailing, commerce, quests, combat, and faction growth offer different directions instead of one required campaign path.
What is Windward?
Windward is a multiplayer sandbox about sailing a ship through a procedurally generated world.
Each journey includes dynamic towns, trade opportunities, conflicts, quests, and unpredictable encounters. Players can sail alone or cooperate with others to expand their influence, confront dangerous foes, and build a faction. Ship choice affects play: fast schooners support exploration, while larger ships provide greater firepower. Towns develop as players supply their needs through trade and questing, offering upgrades and stronger ships. Available activities include fighting pirates, trading with towns, taking quests, and exploring open waters. Artificial intelligence follows the same rules as players, adapting through exploration and responding to reputation and actions.
