Our take on What The Dub?!
The central format is replacing missing lines in film clips with written dubs, which the game then reads aloud through text-to-speech.
What is What The Dub?!?
Players fill missing dialogue in clips from B-movies, public service announcements, and industrial films by writing their own lines.
Text-to-speech plays each dub, after which players vote; the highest-scoring player wins. The game includes over 600 clips and supports 1 to 6 players entering dubs, with up to 12 additional audience members voting. Players enter text using a web-enabled phone, tablet, or computer. Text-to-speech supports 29 listed languages. Community-created clip packs can expand the clip library. Streamer features include Twitch chat voting, along with moderation and content tools. For remote play, players need to see the host’s screen to view the clips; the vendor suggests screen sharing through Zoom.
