ActionIs Vengeance Hunters worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Beat ’em up fans who want both solo play and local co-op
- Players who enjoy choosing between distinct combat styles
- Arcade action players who want secret areas and collectible hunting
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a slow, story-led experience may bounce off the repeated stage-based fighting.
- Players who want only simple button mashing may hit a wall when character-specific moves, aerial attacks, juggling, and combo choices become central.
- Players without a local co-op partner will not use the two-player mode.
- Players looking for a non-action genre may find the focus on continuous combat too narrow.
Our take on Vengeance Hunters
The bounce point arrives when casual button presses stop being enough for players pursuing the deeper combat options. Character-specific moves, aerial attacks, juggling, throws, and ranged combos create a higher mechanical ceiling than the basic controls suggest.
What is Vengeance Hunters?
Vengeance Hunters is a beat ’em up built around Neo-Geo arcade hardware, with solo play and local co-op for two players.
Players fight mutants, zombies, punks, gangsters, bomb-carrying lab workers, cyborgs, robots, and other enemies across stages, sublevels, and hidden routes. The combat supports simple button presses as well as deeper play through combo strings, aerial attacks, juggling, throws, evasive movement, and character-specific Signature moves. Golem focuses on grappling and throwing, Candy uses aerial mobility, and Loony specializes in ranged attacks. Collectibles and other items appear throughout the levels. Three difficulty choices alter parts of the branching story, while dialogue perspective changes with the selected character.
How Vengeance Hunters plays

- 03Branching story
