Our take on Shadow of the Depth
The emphasis on distinct characters and combat timing limits the game's focus on other forms of play. Its structure centers on randomized dungeon exploration, monster fights, combo execution, and boss battles across three chapters.
What is Shadow of the Depth?
Shadow of the Depth is a dark-dungeon roguelite viewed from above, where monsters overrun the world.
Five characters bring distinct combat styles: a shield-bearing defender, a dagger-wielding assassin suited to close fights, a sorcerer who attacks from afar, an archer with animal summons, and a katana user. Each has personal primary and ultimate abilities, along with timed button combinations and character-specific moves. Players venture through dungeons that change with each run, spanning three chapters and ending each chapter in a boss fight. Hand-painted artwork and changing light create a world shaped by brightness and darkness. The characters differ in traits such as defence, agility, attack reach, ability to withstand damage, use of magic, and summoned allies.
