Play it if you…
Good fit- World War II strategy players who prefer squad-level, turn-based combat
- Tabletop wargame fans who want digital scenarios and hex-based battles
- Players seeking custom missions, random battles, or 1v1 multiplayer
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking real-time combat or large-scale battlefield command may find the squad-level, phased structure too narrow
- Players who prefer a linear campaign may find the scenario-based format and custom mission tools less focused
- Players looking for a setting outside World War II may not find the base game suitable
Our take on Valor & Victory
The defining structure is its five-phase turn: command, fire, move, enemy defense, then advance. This sequence combines board-game procedure with hex-based squad combat, requiring attacks, movement, defensive responses, and close assaults to be planned within one recurring turn framework.
What is Valor & Victory?
Valor & Victory is a turn-based World War II squad-level wargame based on a board game.
Each turn uses Command, Fire, Move, Enemy Defense, and Advance phases, with units moving across hexes, firing, defending, and conducting close assaults. Combat uses dice alongside terrain, cover, leaders, hindrances, and other modifiers. The game includes 19 scenarios based on events after the 1944 Normandy Landings, with objectives such as destroying enemy units, capturing locations, or moving selected units off the map. Players can adjust difficulty, turn limits, and Fog of War, play 1v1 matches through PBEM or hotseat, generate random missions, and create scenarios with the editor and Steam Workshop.
