Our take on United Assault - Normandy '44
The open-world mission format trades a fixed campaign sequence for objectives that can vary between runs. That structure also centers play on one role, a US paratrooper, rather than offering a range of character roles.
What is United Assault - Normandy '44?
This open-world first-person shooter places players as a US paratrooper dropped behind enemy lines in a depiction of Normandy in 1944.
Missions vary, with objectives including destroying tanks and Flak 88 cannons, finding secret documents, and liberating a town. After finishing objectives, players must reach an extraction point to claim rewards. The rogue-lite structure includes progression through ranks, which unlock weapons and allow changes to the starting loadout.
The game features 15 towns and settlements based on real-world locations, a dynamic mission generator, and more than 15 weapons described as authentic. A mystery guarded by German troops is also part of the game. Content Update #01 doubled the open-world size, added four towns and access to Utah Beach, and improved AI.
