Our take on KAMUI
The defining detail is the Lightning Katana, which turns incoming enemy bullets into targets rather than hazards alone. Combined with the auto-targeting Lightning Attack, it gives the shooter a score-focused defensive mechanic distinct from ordinary firepower.
What is KAMUI?
KAMUI is a 2D arcade shooter set centuries after the events of RefleX.
Humanity has rebuilt civilization, but ancient technology activates a plan for divine retribution. The player controls KAMUI, a fighter craft created with Xaffiquel Theory brain-fusion technology and tied to a destructive secret. The game contains six stages with high- and low-altitude flight sections. An auto-targeting Lightning Attack raises the score multiplier, while the Lightning Katana can destroy enemy bullets. Several difficulty settings change enemy placement and behavior, and a rank system can adjust the challenge based on player performance. The English version also includes TATE mode, which rotates the display for vertical play.
