Our take on Ultimus bellum
The deck-driven structure replaces standard tower purchasing and upgrades with random card rewards and battle-based defender growth. That creates a card-management focus, but leaves less room for players who want direct control over every tower investment during a wave.
What is Ultimus bellum?
Ultimus bellum is a tower-defense game that combines collectible-card and RPG elements.
Players build a deck to defend reality from invading hordes across five acts, receiving a random card during each wave instead of purchasing towers. Heroes have statistics, levels, and equipment, while defenders improve through battle. The game includes hundreds of equipment items across several rarities and sets, with items obtained from enemy drops or crafting. Five difficulty levels, challenge stages with unusual rules, an equipment shop, and role-based upgrades add variation. Damage elements can be combined to create new types. Planned additions include more cards, maps, enemies, items, challenges, a story between battles, endless survival, enchantments, and hero skills.
