RPGIs DeadNeverStop worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Roguelike fans who want runs built around tower defense
- Strategy players who enjoy combining defenses with battle cards
- Zombie-game fans interested in defending survivors against endless enemies
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a story-focused RPG may find the emphasis on defensive battles leaves little room for narrative play.
- Players who want a large range of environments at launch may find the 3-map Early Access selection limiting.
- Players looking for racing or sports gameplay will find the focus is on tower defense against zombies.
Our take on DeadNeverStop
Players who need variety across many environments may bounce off the 3-map selection once they have played through those settings. Those expecting endless mode from the outset may also hit a wall: it is listed among planned additions, not the Early Access content.
What is DeadNeverStop?
DeadNeverStop combines tower defense with roguelike play.
Players place defense towers as a last line of defense against zombies, collect gene pills dropped by them, and spend the pills on towers or battle cards. Cards can strengthen the hero or defenses. Gems can be used to upgrade talents, and unlocked rune slots allow players to add runes for abilities and bonuses. The Early Access version includes 3 heroes, 20 defense towers, and 3 maps, along with defense-group enhancement cards and general combat cards. Tower and card combinations allow different approaches in each game. Planned additions include more towers and cards, endless and other game modes, and adjustments to battle cards and level difficulty.
