Our take on Transient: Extended Edition
Rather than keeping its investigation within one reality, the game moves between the physical world, dreams and virtual spaces. Its cyberpunk setting is paired with Lovecraftian existential horror, replacing a conventional detective backdrop with questions about sanity and identity.
What is Transient: Extended Edition?
Investigate a post-apocalyptic citadel as Randolph Carter, an augmented investigator searching for answers about himself and his friends.
The game combines a cyberpunk setting with Lovecraftian themes across locations including Kor Shehr and Providence. Explore physical environments, dreams and virtual spaces while meeting a range of characters and beings. Use the PHI perception implant to examine surroundings, find clues and bypass barriers through hacking. Progress through puzzles and investigation as the story examines sanity, identity and the nature of reality. The Extended Edition adds gameplay, a new ending and quality-of-life improvements to the original experience.
