Our take on The Tale of Bistun
Rather than keeping action-adventure in one consistent setting, the game shifts between Mount Bistun’s physical slopes and a realm tied to forgotten memories. Its inscription mechanic also turns part of the protagonist’s story into a player-created record.
What is The Tale of Bistun?
Play as an amnesiac stone-carver climbing Mount Bistun in search of answers about forgotten memories.
The journey moves between the real world and the Revelations Realm, a mysterious domain linked to the protagonist’s past. Combat focuses on rapid melee attacks alongside magical abilities used against groups of monstrous enemies. A mysterious voice follows the quest and recounts the character’s progress. The story draws from the 12th-century Persian romantic poem Khosrow and Shirin, framing its adventure around love, loss, magic, and bravery. Players can also create a Behistun Inscription by making engravings that record their own tale.
