Is Seven: Enhanced Edition worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Players who want open-world exploration with stealth and combat choices
- RPG fans interested in isometric worlds with faction conflicts and consequential decisions
- Players seeking a thief-focused adventure that includes an additional seven-hour expansion
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a tightly linear adventure may find the open island structure too free-form
- Those wanting combat-only gameplay may not enjoy the emphasis on stealth, disguises, climbing, and choices
- Players looking for a short standalone campaign may not want an edition that includes an additional expansion
Our take on Seven: Enhanced Edition
Its defining structure is an isometric open world where a thief can move through Peh by sneaking, disguising, climbing, fighting, or using the environment, rather than following one fixed approach. The expansion extends this format into submarine exploration around a sunken vessel.
What is Seven: Enhanced Edition?
Guide Teriel, a master thief, through a mission that could alter the Vetrall Empire.
Seven: Enhanced Edition presents the prison island of Peh as an open area viewed from an isometric perspective. Traversal includes sneaking, running, climbing, and fighting across varied environments, while checkpoints, monsters, and hostile factions create obstacles. Teriel can approach enemies through concealment, disguises, attacks from above or behind, weapons, or magical abilities. The inhabitants of Peh can be helped or exploited, with consequences for those choices. The edition also includes Drowned Past, an expansion adding seven hours of gameplay, a submarine journey into the sea depths, and an expedition involving the Enclave and a mythological sunken vessel.
How Seven: Enhanced Edition plays

- 03Choice And Consequences
- Peh’s inhabitants can be assisted or exploited, with consequences following those decisions.
- 04Drowned Past Expansion
- The included expansion adds seven hours of gameplay, submarine exploration, and a story involving the Enclave and a sunken vessel.
Seven: Enhanced Edition compared to similar games
Ghost of a Tale also combines action-RPG play with stealth, disguises, conversations, and exploration, but places those systems in a medieval world populated by animals and follows Tilo, a mouse and minstrel. Seven: Enhanced Edition instead uses an isometric open world on the prison island of Peh, with combat, magical abilities, factions, and an included expansion.
